Re: 2001 jeep grand cherokee
THOSE VEHICLE HAVE SEPARATE BLEND DOORS THAT CONTROLS HOW MUCH HEAT/COLD YOU WANT. BLEND DOORS ARE FLIMSY AND TEND TO BRAKE AFTER A WHILE. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IS BY REPLACEING THE BEND DOOR (S).EXPENSIVE REPAIR. WHOLE DASH HAS TO COME OUT. PART IS CHEAP BUT A LOT OF LABOR

apparently it is dual climate control. most common failure is the blend door actuator motor has gone bad on the passenger side. however it could be the door in the HVAC box has broken or the control head is bad.
you have to get a new control panel which cost usually around 800 dollars. Mine is the same way but i haven't got it fixed i just took out the glove box and kept the switch to tell the motor to make it hot or cold air and put a screw in it and have it held on hot for the winter then ill taker it out in the summer and have it blow cold air
You have the blend doors problem which needs to be fixed. At jeep it is about £1300, by EDM in bicester it is £255 and maintains dual control. I would imagine the recirc dooe is or soon will go as well.
look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side
Hello, This is because your actuator door in the dash board is broken. its about $1000 to fix. Its a bad design flaw that Jeep used in their dual climate control. Many many many jeep owners have had this problem.
