Question about 1998 Toyota Corolla
How do i replace the outside door hanle (driver side) on my 1998 toyota corolla Do i have to take off the door panel and is that hard to do? I have the replacement part but i just don't know where ton start Please help
You do need to pull off the inner door panel. After the panel is off, you are going to need to disconnect the lock rods from the outer handle and the key cylinder to the door latch mechanism. You will need a long 1/4" drive ratchet and extension, and a 10 millimeter socket. The outer handle is held on by 2 10 mm bolts, you access them thru the inner part of the door. There is a hole provided, with clear tape over it, that will lead you to the harder to see bolt. After the bolts are out, remove the handle, swap the key cylinder into the new handle, and reinstall. Not hard at all.
