Question about 1999 Ford Mustang Cobra
When driving the car already in idle temperature, each time the accelerator is pressed, I hear a rattling sound only while in gears and for a few seconds. Also at times the accelerator reaches 2000 RPMs by itself and it stays there until I press the accelerator once, it comes back down to normal idling acceleration. I checked the cable and its fine.
As for the rattling sound have you checked the heat shield on the catalytic converter, mine was loose and was causing a rattling sound when it was at idle, and would go away as the rpm's increased.
