same thing going on with my 04 jeep GC laredo. tried to switch panel didnt do a dang thing

I have the same problem except the seat controls are on the seat and work. Significant: The interesting thing is that my dome lights are on all the time unless the dash lights are turned all the way down. None of the power window switches work, the right door automatic locking works all the doors except the driver's, as does the key FOB. The problem seems to be in the driver's door and somehow involves the interior ligghts.

nothing works on the driver's side control panel ** panel has power to it ** also, interior cargo lights stay on unless dimmer switch is in lowest setting **

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM! Fob unlocks all doors but the driver's door ... no switches on the doors work (windows/locks/mirrors/etc.) ... but I may have encountered this problem with window locks on from driver's controls ... (lights on switches on other doors are on "lock", etc. and those work) ... interior/dome lights stay on except with in lowest brightness setting (column lever switches) and lights do not come on when doors open ... cannot find fuses blown ... but will check wiring from the door.

Wonder if any one can help me; I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee Overland and my driver side electric mirror does not work. When I select between memory seat position one and two the mirror works, however, when I try and adjust the mirror from the door panel on the side it does not work. The passenger side mirror works though. Could this be a faulty switch panel?

Check the wires inside the rubber according between the drivers door and the pillar. you will find at least one wire broken. Grand Cherokees are notorious for this problem. At least it's easy to fix though.

After my 1-08-09 entry I went to the door to A-pillar wire loom and found a broken wire: Orange/white. Running power from the battery to the door side of the wire gets all the previously non-op equipment working. Just need to find the other end of the wire now!

Hey mate, I have just checked mine with the same problem, and it is the black ground wire in the wiring loom between the door and body. Hope you have sorted yours out, if not, check it

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the "a" pillar. Check the maxi fuses under the hood also. Push in on the rear hatch and see if the dome lights go out. Sometimes the rear hatch has to be adjusted to close tight.

Look under the hood fuse no. 12 should be for power windows. Or maybe something like a bad ground wire in drivers door harness.

All of these functions are controlled by a central electronic module referred to as the BCM (body control module), you must have the dealer scan this module and run it through an active test to see what is wrong, it may be a defective BCM causing this, but that needs to be programmed and is not a plug and play part.

I had same problem it is a ground wire broken in the harness rubber boot between dthe driver door. Peel back the rubber that protects wires and you will find broken ground wire(black) add a piece of wire solder and wrap with electrical tape put rubber boot back into door everything should work.

Power windows dont work and dome light stays on

It has to be a broken wire! Initially, I lost the door locks & power to the windows ONLY when the drivers door was open. When I closed the door, the problem went away. Finally, I had the problem all the time. I checked for 12 vdc at the switch in the drivers door and there was NO POWER. In the rubber boot (between the car & door) I found the grey wire (with a pink stripe) was broken internally but the INSULATION WAS NOT!!!

Hi all,
suppose you have worked out your little problem. I have just been experiencing the same thing with my 2004 GC ltd. Windows, mirrors, etc not working and interior light staying on. Took it to the shop and they re soldered the wire (behind the door panel) that had come off. Cheap problem really.
