TWO broken spark plugs in 05 F-150

I took my truck to a ford dealer to get fixed and they broke 2 spark plugs off. Once they get the plugs out and the pieces fall into the cylinder will that hurt the motor?

I tried to change my spark plugs on my 2004 F-150 at 101,583 and broke one off, took to dealer and they broke the rest of then and charged me $956.87 to replace the of the plugs that they broke off. I feel that FORD MO.CO should PAY for these repairs. I 've owned FORD TRUCKS AND CARS for the last thirty years, and I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER AGAIN. Come on something as simply as changing yor spark plugs SHOULD NOT cost the comsumer hundreds of dollars. SHAME ON YOU FORD MOTOR COMPANY, and they wounder WHY the are NOT SELLING CARS AND TRUCKS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD MAKE IT RIGHT TO EACH AND EVERY FORD.

You need to make sure they got all the pieces out. I did the same thing myself and used a high pressure blow tip with my air compressor and blew it out. A couple of days prior to removing those platinum plugs you need to spray some penetrating oil several times to loosen them. If you have one twist off and get stuck. What I did was took a easy out and tack welded it to an 3/8" extension with a socket that is tacked on to a dent puller with a slide handle. Once you tap the easy out in to the platinum piece hard enough to bite, then use the slide hammer a couple of times. It should loosen and come out. Good luck!!

I have an F150 that the plugs were replaced and out of the eight 5 of them broke off, Ford has a tool to do this with contact them or catch a dealer mechanic on the side see if ya can by the tools from a local parts store and get tips from the mechanic how to proceed.

Took 2004 9-3 to the Dealer because car was vibrating and misfiring. Dealer replaced spark plugs. 01/19. Took 400 mile road trip 2 weeks later. Car was vibrating, smoking and sparks were coming out of...

I have know by experience that if you cross plug wires you can get an engine extremely hot ive seen it also seen it hot enough to get the exhaust manifolds glowing red if they havent put their hands in it and corrected the problem i would check the firing order to make sure it was correct and that they didnt cross the plug wires.

Is there a way to change the spark plugs in a 5.4 without the danger of breaking them in the head? I understand it is a carbon buildup on the plugs in the com. chamber

Trust me, no matter what you do, the danger exists. Ford says to crack the plugs loose not mere than 1/4 turn and spray penetrating oil into the spark plug holes and let it soak for at least an hour. Then, carefully work the plug back and forth until it comes out. The problem that I have experienced is that the cracking 1/4 turn is what breaks the "blankety-blank" things. Once they are broken, you are done without the special tools needed to extract the thread part of the plug, then go fishing for the lower end which just fell down into the cylinder. This is definitely one of Fords WORST ideas.
I highly recommend that you do not try this at home!

What does the 60k mile maintenance entail? how much it cost?

The dealer will get top dollar for anything they do, or possibly persuade you to do. At 60k, besides check this or check that, it is wise to do air filter every15k, max 30k. Fuel filter every 15k, max 30k. cabin filter every15k. Spark plugs these days can go as high as 100k. Serpentine belt at 45-60k. Coolant flush and fill every 30k, or every 2-3 years. Rotate tires every 6-8k. Oil and filter change every 3-5k. Most of that 700.00 is probably labor at probably $100/hr. to check brakes, check tires, check battery, safety check, etc., run tests, install new filters. All these dealers have checklists they establish to give you full security and comfort in knowing your car is safe and reliable.. You seem to know a little about it...it's the old saying, don't fix it if it ain't broke. At least discuss it with them, and then make an educated decision.

I have a 2005 ford f-150 5.4 liter while changing spark plugs one broke the thread came out but the plug stayed in place

You have MAJOR problems now.....you can fix this with a thread repair kit, Which I've used at the dealership,or replace the head which FORD redesigned the thread problem issue...advise you to call your local dealer to get a quote for that repair....
