Check Engine light comes on 2004 F150 2 wheel drive.
Ford dealer told me to change the fuel filter and use Chevron fuel. They are not able to correct this problem. All codes are good. I feel they do not have any idea why this light comes on. They feel it has something to do with the fuel and filter. I have had this to the dealer (4) times. My truck has 26,500 miles F150 V8 2 wheel drive.

sounds like semi pluged fuel injectors try a bottle of techron buy chevron goes in your gas----drive a 100 miles on freeway to clean fuel injectors and valves,, pistons, rings, o2 senser 2 bottles per oil change
it is dirt trapped by the filter and yes it is normal, work for a Ford dealer see this all the time, would suggest you change gas stations or bring it to there attention that thier fuel is dirty. Make sure you change the filter at least every 30,000 miles, use a Motorcraft factory filter, they are by far the longest lasting and best at filtering.
check filter in fuel tank had same problem would be driving along and engine would cut out hyundai couldnt sort it. A friend told me the paint can come off the inside of the tank and clog the filter fixed the problem.
