Do you mean the FAN, could be the switch controling the fan. try that first, pulling the fan motor and heater core will be a pain.

Dont pump your gas anymore you may flooded the spark plugs in your motor. It maybe that the battery cells are low and it makes it turn over but wont crank. It could be the battery also tune-up.

How do you take out the heater core in a 1990 thunderbird?

disconeck heater hoses under the hood on right side of motor and then inside car under dash remove the heater box on right and the core is inside,4-5 hour job.
