You unscrew the instrument pad and then unbolt the inner door handle. Then detatch the upholstry one divet at a time and then lift it up and off. You will still have to work through some holes but it's doable now.

Why won't the door(s) unlock on my 1975 Chevelle Malibu Classic?

Does the passenger door unlock with the key? If it is OK, then the lock mechanism or the linkage has a problem. You will probably need to remove the interior door panel and examine it from that angle.

Passengers door won't open

Are both of the door handles broken and not moving the lock rods enough to trip the lock mechanism? Do you feel any resistance when operating the handles? If there isn't suffcient clearance between the door and passenger seat to pop the panel clips out of the holes they are seated in then you may have to break the panel to remove it. This would need to be a last resort method to access the door lock mechanism to open the door, but sometimes it is the only way.

I recently purchased a used 03 Chevy Venture van. The passenger sliding door doesn't open. It worked for 1 week and stopped. The driver side sliding door has a broken handle so I'm able to open that door...

Pain but fixable. Sounds like the linkage is not connected. Even a mechanic will have to remove the door panel and fight with it. If you can remove the rear seat from the drivers side side door then you might have room to remove the passenger side door panel to fix it. Usually clips are the first thing to break on door handle/latch linkages

I cannot open my passenger door from the outside even though it is unlocked. I lift the handle but nothing happens. I can only open the passenger door from the inside.

The outside door handle operation rod has either fallen off or the outside handle is broken, you will need to remove it to find out which one, you will have to remove the interior door panel to access it. Hope this helps, let me know

Electrical mechanism will not unlock front passenger door nor can it be unlocked manually at door handle. Inside door handle will not move so door cannot be opened. Consequently, cannot remove inner door...

possibly your linkage from the electric solenoid and door lock to the locking mechanism has either fallen apart inside the door or also possibly it has gotten "over-center" and cannot operate properly from either the automatic electric or manually from the key, can you hear and click from the solenoid when you operate this electrically? and see lock button move a little, this would be a sign it's over-center.

How do I get access to the rear passanger side

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Remove passenger side mirror. Ineed to replace a broken passenger side mirror. Do I need to remove the entire door panel to access the scriews holding the mirror and to access to electrical connection?

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

Passenger door wont open

Gonna have to try to remove door panel and access the rod that runs from interior handle to lock mechanism, or try to unlock door from outside with a slimjim tool.
