Question about 2001 Ford Windstar
2001 Windstar Code - Changed out the Air Filter - Next need to change the fuel filter. Where is it located ? Purchased a Chilton Repair manual with diagram 5.4 showing where to disconnect the filter after depressurizing the fuel system. NO idea where to find the little bad boy.
Near the fuel tank out let from the fuel pump ?
Suggestions ? May be the EGR valve if I replace the fuel filter or the MAF sensor because the manual is non specific. Does the code need to be reset after I remove pressure and power from the system ? Manual does not cover that as well.

Fuel Trim Too Lean
The current cell can be observed using a scan tool. The system will go lean if an injector is not providing enough fuel.A lean condition could be present during high fuel demand due to a fuel pump not pumping enough fuel, plugged fuel filter or a restricted fuel line.Insufficient fuel in the tank or low fuel pressure may cause this DTC to set. Refer to Fuel System Diagnosis .Review the Failure Records with a scan tool. If an intermittent condition is suspected, refer to Intermittent Conditions .
