I changed thermostat and water pump had good heat for three miles and then went cold can mess with it and get it to come back and then goes cold in 3 miles

Check the heater hoses to see if they are still hot when the air goes cold. If the hose are hot it is not a cooling system problem but a temperature blend door problem. If the hoses have a different feel to them, one hot and one cold or warm, it is a circulation problem and the coolant is not moving through the heater core fast enough to keep the air hot out of the vents. This usually ends up being a clogged heater core.

Engine light comes on heat blowed cold air and car runs hot and wont crank now

Number 1: get the code; even if they light turns off an on, the code will be stored in the computer.

It sounds like you could have a variety of issues and more information needs to be given. How is the car running? Does it run & idle perfectly or does it stumble?

My 2002 gmc serra has a issue with the ac and heater the lights turn on but no air I hit a bump and it will turn on for a second but it stop blowing air cold or hot what could it be....

the blower motor resistor relay are bad about shorting out and melting the connector causing a loose connection and when you hit it or a bump it'll make connection and work. look under the passenger side dash and you'll see two wires coming from the blower motor. trace those two wires to a little black box with somemore wires pluged into it and try to unplug the other connector that has about five wires coming from it. turn your key on and your a/c with the blower speed set on high, try moving those five wires if the fan blows and quits, then this is the problem. you'll have to replace the resistor and the wire connector.

Heater does not blow hot only cold air. Every so often the heater blows hot . When driving on freeway the heater works sometimes but turns cold when at red light.

Check the radiator level, if it low the hot coolant will not reach the heater. Second may be the water pump, as it wares the clearance increases and the efficiency goes way down and it cannot pump the coolant unless the engine revs are up.....

2005 Grand Prix heater works fine when blower is off-air coming thru vent gets hot; once blower is turned on air turns cold. Why?

Sounds like a clogged heater core- insufficient coolant circulating through heater core, and as soon as you blow air past the core, it get cooled off.
