Question about 2001 Hyundai Sonata
Thanx so much for your quick response! heres what i posted on this site:
"i have had problems with my 01 sonata not wanting to stay started in the cold mornings and then it just started running very rough any time of the day. we changed the fuel filter which was clogged. so i thought some junk could have gotten into the fuel injectors so i put some fuel injector cleaner in and no luck. my car will start up and run 'ok' for a couple of minute and then run rough and vibrate the whole car. just had spark plugs and wired changed about 2 months ago and no sparking seen in the dark of the wires. anyone know the symptoms of a bad cam shaft? or im thinking o2 sensor? " its also ' knocking' or 'tapping' steadily-the cleaner i put in was supose to be a complete cleaning system-dont know how well those work anyway-ive done the suggestion posted on my question: "Try cleaning the IAC idle control valve. Buy a can of brake cleaner or carburater cleaner and with the car running at 1200 rpms spray right into the fuel system area where you take off the duct work for the air cleaner. The idle control valve can be removed also and the 2 holes on the under side of the valve cleaned. They get dirty and cause rough idling or no idling.
If not, have your car scanned for a code to check if it is the IPS (idle position sensor.)"
could this be the code?
i also called oreillys and all they could find for that code was on a honda and came up as the air fuel ratio a-f sensor heater circuit malfunction, which is greek to me so i dont know if it is two things or one. i just dont know how one thing affects the other.
i cant tell you how much i appriciate your help! this is my only transportation and i have two small kids and of course i live way out in bfe-i am so scared it is something way out of my budget-hopefully it is just something like a mass air flow sensor or something but with the knocking, im scared it is a rod or cam shaft going/gone bad-sorry to have wrote a book but please let me know if you need any additional info. thanx again! adrienne
