With a test light grounded and switch on, go to end & touch lightly then test across touching lightly on grid lines. When no power on light, look for a small break in grid line(s) .You can buy a grid repair kit. Small bottle like nail polish, and touch up any breaks.

I own a 2008 holden statesman and i have a problem with headlight globes. Every time i change the globe its always dull i have tried cheap ebay globes right up to $300 h.i.d kits and still dull

Hi Michael The issue you have sounds more like a power/earth supply issue. I'm assuming the light lense and reflectors are in good order. The battery is good and no issues with the charging system. Start with the easy side earth or ground side. Connect a seperate earth from light to battery earth terminal just for test purpose. If light is improved then do the same the otherside. if good then you have an earthing problem.(use a slightly heavier gauge wire than your nomal lighting wire so there is no voltage drop). If no different move to power side disconnect connector to globe check and be sure which is the live terminal on the globe and connect a wire as before from + terminal on battery to positive on globe, light must be bright now. Ist check for loose or burnt terminals ie at connection to globe, battery power/ earth terminals.Check Battery to chassis connections for tightness. If easy to do so remove and and clean an re secure. Check engine to battery/chassis connections if all good you have to move onto the supply from fuse box and any connetions in between this is where it becomes more involved and would advise a qualified person to investigate. good luck

I have a 98 buick lasabre and when I use the blinkers only the small blinkers light flashes really fast and in order for my big blinkers light to flash I have to do it manually up and down what's the...

fast flashing inside indicator lights usually mean a dodgy earth wire. start the car, put on the indicator, get out and have a look at what the outside lights are doing, check both sides. You may find the stop/tail light also flashes dimly with the indicator, if so then it is a dodgy earth wire, it may be touching another wire or be loose. check it out and get back to me. I am in the UK and I think our lights are a little different, but give it a go and see what happens

Indicator fuses nissan micra

No their isnt a seperate fuse i would suspect that you have a faulty bulb holder try testing it with a meter to see it works using a seperate earth wire back to the battery in case its a faulty earth connection

It has power and everything works, but there is no power to the starter. We removed the starter and checked it and it is good.

there are 3 possiable causes.1the main red high power wire.2the earth wire/netural.3the small light wire leading from the ign switch any other wires are earth/ of these wires is broken my advice is get a meter to check power is going to the starter,is the power going to the main live from the the earth/netural from the battery to the connection to starter ok .and the main suspect the small wire from the ignition switch to the starter [ok]adrian.

The passenger side front window and driver's side rear window do not go up or down. what could be problem?

I would suspect the switched first. One window might show as a wiring fault but two, no usually.. remove the switch assembly from the door armrest and use a test probe to check the centre terminals of the front and rear window switches. The centre terminals transpose the power and earth supplies when the switch is pushed up and down. If you lose either the power or earth connections during the switching tests, replace the switch assembly.

may i please ask? is this problem related to the battery failing to start engine? ie turns slow ? or not turn over? suspect battery? changed battery still same prob ? changed alternator suspect not charging ? still prob exists ?? so you have eliminated these?and drive belt is tight ? when ?i assume you have to start? do you use jump leads? and starter works ? if so using this method advise you check the earth/ground lead from battery to where it connects to engine? and ensure clean/secure ? also there may be another earth lead from engine to chassis ? if these are not good condition as above then intermittant sarting problems occure especially from initial cold start giving suspect battery of failing to charge battery indicated by poor starter operation if you could give any info as to what happens that suspect not charge would assist on exactly is happening to your vehicle best wishes from uk
