Ford ef fairmont a/c

The a/c in my ef fairmont is blowing hot from the front vents and cold air from the rear vents. I think this is because the mixing motor is faulty. Is this a difficult job to replace.

If I remember right, the Dash does need to come out, in order to service any part of the A/C-Heater system in the Fairmonts. Another brilliant design idea in the modern era. Non-A/C Heater Cores can be removed though without as much work.

As ahill 1 say the dash may need to be removed but most off the time you can undo the dash srews and pull the dash up just enough to get to the mixer moter worst case the dash in a el/ef is very easy to remove for more info let me no and ill work you through it

Hi my name is Allen!

These motors are held on by two or more screws which is very simple, the problem lies in getting to the motor because depending on which motor it is the whole dash may have to be removed to gain access to the motor.

2003 ford expedition i just got it a week ago and the front heat works great but the back vents only blow cold air. How do i fix this?

With the car parked and engine idling, turn the ventilation control between windshield defroster and "open air ducts" to front and rear vents. Listen to pinpoint where the valves are that open and closes the air ducts. It sounds like the air duct to rear vents are blocked, and the cold air in rear air duct is coming from "outside ventilation." The air vent to allow hot air to the rear vent is stuck in "open ventilation" mode, like when you're driving in spring or summer months.

1997 gmc rear air conditioner is blowing hot

Could be a blockage in the lines to the rear unit.
Might be low on freon too. Or a blend door problem.
Can you check under the floor and see if one of the lines is cold ?

It blows out hot air even when the air in the front is cold

Hard to read your question, do you mean it blows cold air out of the front vents and hot air out of the rear passenger vents?

If the air coming out of the front is just cool and not cold, and the rear vents are warm, you have low freon and need to have it serviced.

My Air Condition is only blowing hot air in the front, but cold in the rear. Could anyone give me a start in correcting this problem? Thanks

possible blend door actuator faulty, or a faulty blend door. This door switches from hot to cold vents. On expeditions equipped with rear AC front and rear AC have seperate actuators. Hopefully this helps!!

A/c problem

You either have a bad control, or motor running the air direction door in the front HVAC unit, or a door that is stuck.

The front and rear units are totally separate.

The door directs where the air, cold or hot, should come out, whether it is panel vents, floor, defrost, or any combination of those.

This door and motor are located inside the heater box which usually requires a lot of the vehicle dash assembly to be taken apart to get to these parts.
