Question about 1988 Dodge D-Series Pickups
Fuel injected models of your truck have an external idle kicker motor located on the throttle body acting directly on the throttle.
wiith the hood up u should be able to hear the kicker motor position itself for start when key turned to run position. if u dont hear a buzzy sound momentarily at the point you turn the key u may have a problem with it.computer adjusts idle speed with this device.
