Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora
Have @ 20,000 miles on cooper tires, 1 was replaced - driver's rear - less then 200 miles ago with a tempra, tires spin balance & front end aligned.
Have been advised to start with 4 new tires to see if that solves the problem, if not go from there by our son. Shimmy is more pronounced recently especially at highway speeds. Car driven infrequently by little old lady who has to watch her apeed.
Tie rod ends?

Most shimmies come from tire/wheel/balance combos. Before your dollars go down on 4 tires(assuming you have good tread), rotate tires & if there is a change you can figure out the offending unit
