does it sound more like wind noise or noise from the drive traine? if its wind noise it could be comming from the rubber weatherstripping between the door and body. this can be checked very easy take a doller bill and put it between the door and body and close the door if you can pull the doller out easy that means it is not sealing tight and will cause the whistling noise. chk. at other spots on the door too. let me know if you think its wind noise or drive traine noise. if its drive traine i will try to help on that to. good luck.

Do you have aftermarket bug deflector and or rain guards? these can cause noise you are describing. also you can turn fan on high fresh air mode and spray doors and windshield with soapy water, if there is a gap air will be escaoing and you will see bubbles

Loud whistling noise when 65 to 70 miles an hour

This is sometimes caused by moulding lifting around the windshield and on the panel housing the wiper arms. Sometimes the moulding is affected by temperature. The best thing to do is trial and error taping of a small section of the moulding or the panel covering the wiper arms. What is happening is an edge is poking up and catching the wind. By taping a small section, you are smoothing out the edge that is making noise. Once found, just try removing the tape and then use a clear silicon to fill in the edge gap.
You would be getting water in the vehicle if the wind was coming through the front bottom gasket of the windshield

Electric cooling fan bearing failed and the cooling fan needs to be replaced. Start with inspecting the cooling fan behind the radiator and determine if that is where the noise is coming from. Replace any worn or damaged parts.

The dealership only told you that to make you go away. It whistles because of how it's designed and manufactured. Get used to it. Turn up the radio.

2003 Mercury Grand marquis utlimate edition Whistling noise coming from the rear and eerie annoying.

What speed?
In the trunk area?
Around the rear doors?
Only in crosswinds? Sometimes the antenna makes a whistle noise in cross winds at 50 plus mph.

Get a roll f 2 inch masking tape, and tape off areas one at a time and test drive.

Loud whistling noise when travelling at higher speeds (ie above 50mph)

I had a problem with a whistling car after 50 mph and it turned out to be the front window gasket. I put silicone on the trim and problem solved.
