Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee an when i am driving its is jerky. i was told to change the plugs and it still did this. i took it to the parts store a they put it on a diag. machine and it said it was the egr valve and it was also changed. it is still running the same maybe a little worse. i took it back to the parts store and the computer wouldn't show anything but a 15 & 95 code which the parts guy said was nothing! any suggestions?

    THE PLUGS AND WIRES WHERE CHECKED AND THEY WERE FINE. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SHORTING OUT? THE GAP AND EVERYTHING IS FINE AND PLUGS ARE CLEAN.

    could be the map sensor

    my 1995 grand cherokee limited runs great throughout the entire acceleration process from idle to the floor (the gas pedal) when it is cold,

    but when at opperating temp if i stomp on the pedal it falls flat on its face,

    it does not die or stall and it funs file if i decellerate but when trying to pass it just chokes.

    i was told it could be a map sensor or an air controll valve or an egr.

    mine also starts to buck and cut off when I accelerate, around 2300 RPM.  I replaced the fuel filter, checked the fuel pressure and it was ok (35psi), check the small tube that connects to the bottom of the MAP and to the throttle body and it was ok.  plugs and wires are good.  only does this when the engine and or the ambient temp has warmed up and under load.  In neutral i revved it to 4000rpm and no hesitation at all.  Have not checked for other vacuum hose leaks.  feels like either getting to much air or not enough fuel.  Could the MAP be bad?

Where is the egr valve on a 95 jeep grand cherokee laredo? I have chnged the spark plugs, wires, solanoid and all are functioning properly? Any suggestions? The plugs are nt chorting out either. Thank you for your time.

Make sure your spark plug leads are not shorting out.

    Against each other...or anything metal.
    This will cause the vehicle to **** when accelerating.
    You will see a "scorched" area between any lead that is sorting out.
    Leads lose their insulation after a while...
    Also may pay to check the fuel pressure if its not the leads.

I HAD A 1996 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE BUT SOLD IT. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. I REPLACED IT WITH A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND WHILE DRIVING IT TO TAMPA ALL TROUBLE DASH WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON THE A.C. CLUCH DISENGUAGED AND BLEW HOT AIR. THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AND I HAD TO TURN THEM OFF AND BACK ON EVERY 30 MINUTES. EVERYTHING I LOOKED UP ON THE INTERNET TOLD ME TO REPLACE THE BCM. BUT THEN I FOUND A POST THAT TOLD ME TO CHECK FUSE NUMBER 13 WHICH I DID AND IT WAS BLOWN FUSE. IT IS MY OPINION ITS A FUSE. SOMETHING DRASTIC HAS TO HAPPEN TO YOUR VEHICLE BEFORE YOU HAVE TO REPLACE A MAJOR PART. TRY THE FUSES FIRST. REFER TO YOUR OWNERS MANUAL TO FIND THE FUSE FOR THE BCM.

Hello: I was told to purchase OEM spark plug


To get Mopar brand wires, you may need to go to the dealer, but I don't know of any reason that you would need that specific brand. Any good quality brand should be fine.
Usually when people say OEM parts, they mean parts that are equivalent to the original parts in construction and quality, i.e., neither shoddy nor super de luxe.
If you have a NAPA parts store, for example, whatever they have should be fine.

Tp fuel pumps from same year different wireing


What you brought is an tank and unit from 1995 JGC. from 1993 till 1995 they have the same fuel pump. 96'er Jeeps start with OBD - Systems and they have other fuel pumps. You can't change the plug ins, because you may have other fuel filter in your Granny. Check filter and fuel lines if they fit with the unit you brought. If not, you need another unit from a real 96'er Jeep

you need to change module inside your distributor. When they get hot they quit.

it's a Transmission Problem, When Warm the Torque Converter Lock up solenoid kicks in and locks up the Transmisson, Which makes the Trans seem to be in 2 different gears at once..

Do you have reverse lights? If not the wires go to the neutral safety switch. You may need to re-wire it to restore operation The haynes manual has a good plug diagram.
