Question about 1991 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

1991 Toyota Camry won't start.

Brand new battery fully charged, headlights turn on, when the door is open the "door ajar" dash light comes on. When I try to start it, nothing happens. The radio doesn't come on, none of the dash lights come on....no attempt to turn over. Just nothing. Help please.....

Did you try and jump start your car?? if so you might have done it wrong and blown a fuse.. under hood fuse box most likely one of the bigger looking fuses look at them and check with test light

I cannot find the ecm / ecu on my 2002 toyota corolla. where is it?

You can do more damage trying to fix it youself if you don't know what is really wrong. I suggest you bring it to a mechanic to check out the damage. It also could be a simple thing like replacing the fuseble Links.
First check that the battery is connected properly - to body ground and + to engine. Make sure battery is fully charged before installing. Good luck

charge the battery and once fully charged, do a LOAD test on it, clean all the connections and start the car ,, check the voltage at the battery posts with the car running, you should get between 13.5 and 14.5 volts, if not, replace the alternator , if you do, the battery and the cables just needed some attention

Check the user manual for the kill switch location. At times, these models are equipped with a removable key that will cause the same problem.

I HAD SAME PROBLEM SOLVER OF MY MOMS 1996 CAMRY ABOUT HORN GOING OFF AND CAR WOULDN'T CRANK. JUMPED IT OFF AFTER A FEWW FRANTIC MOMENTS OF HORN HONKING-- FOUND OU IT WAS AN ALARM THING AND YOU CAN SHUT IT OFF BY TURNING IGNITION KEY TO ON POSITION AND MOVING TOGGLE SWITCH AT DRIVER KICK PANEL TO OVERIDE THE HONKING HORN PROBLEM--STILL NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED IT TO DO THIS AT BEGINNING. BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED AND HEADLIGHTS REAL BRIGHT TOO. COULD HAVE BEEN A DOORLOCK MANUAL MALFUNCTION--BEEN OK FOR A WEEK NOW.
