I have a 1985 gmc sierra the lights worked one bulb blew i changed it now my horn and headlights dont work. i checked it looks like horn and headlights are on same fuse. all other lights work and fuse is ok.. i recently changes the clutch and fly wheel is there anyway there is something i undid without realizing it?
The most simple solution to this Problem Which is VERY Common on this model Truck (Had a 85' Chevy) is to get an Electrical Tester from any Auto Parts Store or Wal-Mart and Unplug the Headlights one at a time and check the Leads in the Harness. If they test ok then go to the Fuse Box and Check there after you Pull out the fuse and reattach the Light Harness to the Bulb. There should be a Short under the Dash on the Stearing Column. It is a Task to fix on your own But, Can be done. I went so far as to Install a GT Grant Steering Wheel and REwired the Horn to solve that Problem. You could have messed up the Harness for these when you adjusted the Clutch But, These wires only go through the FireWall and Not under the Truck. Get a Tester and start Pokin around. Any good Parts Shop will be able to tell you how to work the Tester and there are all Kinds of MANY Price Ranges. Just let them know what the Problem is and they will know which one you need!
