Did you bench bleed the master cylinder? You may have to adjust your rear brake shoes.

Spongey brakes on a 1994 ford e-250 cargo van after replacing the master cylinder

did you bench bleed master cylinder before putting it on van. if not, you have air in the lines. and will need to bleed the air out of the brake cylinders at the wheels. if it was bench bled to let air out first. and you did not loose any fluid from lines.then you would be ok !! good-day !!

Replaced brake pads, rotars and callipars and brakes feel spongey. did bleed all 4 callipars til fluid came out and replaced brake fluid in master cylinder, still spongey can't figure it out.

U need the special anti-lock brake (ABS) bleeder adapter to get the air out of the ABS hydraulic control unit, that is why the spongy feel the system is no completely bled of air unless you hook up the tool that holds the hydraulic control valves open for bleeding

Brake problems

randy, i need to know if you hear a sucking noise to know for sure. but, sounds like you still have air in your brake lines. they need to be bled. as well as the master cylinder. the master cylinder should have been bench bled before instlation. start over, start with the wheel furtherst from the master cylender and work your self closest. have some one in the truck to pump the brakes really hard. when they are firm, release the tensinn at the bleeder valve. you can save the fluid with a small hose and a small glass jar at each wheel. check to make sure the master cyl. is always full. after this you will see air in the master cyl. do the same at the bleeder valves there.

Brakes 350 ford supercab

you have to make very sure that you got all the air out of the system. and make sure that you bled it in the right order. start at the furthest from the MC and work your way toward it. It will take a couple of times. Hopefully when you pushed the piston on the caliper back in you relieved the pressure through the bleed valve cuz if you didn't you can actually ruin the Master Cylinder by blowing out a relief valve by the backflow of the fluid.
