I have a 1995 Ford Windstar, need to find where fuse is located for console 12V power outlet. (Doesn't show in manual - replaced other cigarette lighter ones)

I am having the same problem and need help. I would appreciate it if someone could figure out this problem.

Same issue with my 2003 Explorer. The fuse is good, but I don't have power to the 12V outlet that is on the center console. The power still works in the other outlet in the back seat.

WHERE IS FUSES FOR CIGARETTE LIGHTERS LOCATED

Should be under the steering wheel like any other car. There is a box. Just open up the box (You may need to pry off the cover with a flat head screw driver). I own a 91 Explorer and there is a diagram right on the back of the cover along with a fuse pulling tool. The owners manual will also have a diagram. Look for the terms "Accessory", "Lighter", "Socket" etc. Any Ford I've ever seen supplies power to the cigarette lighter even when the car isn't running so it will be easy to test.

Looking for the cigarette lighter fuse

Look at popping the end of the dash off with the drivers door open or right under drivers dash.On the back of the cover or the owners manual in the glovebox will give you the legend. It will say either CIG or ACC.You can verify there is no power by plugging a cell phone charger in

2009 Saturn aura: cigarette lighters/power ports

You likely have a blown fuse. I have heard using the cigarette lighter for charging your cell phone can blow the fuse - was told to use the charger inside the center console for charging my cell phone.

Replaced the fuse for my 2002 buick rendezvous cigarette lighter, but it blows every time I plug in my phone charger into the lighter.

Have you tried plugging something else into the socket before the phone charger? Try that and see if it blows as it could be the phone charger. If it does then you will need to replace the socket. Its an easy job and they are cheap.

My 2002 VW Jetta cigarette lighter will not work. I have tried replacing the fuse, and nothing. How do I (myself) change the cigarette lighter? Thanks for your help!!!

You need a dc current test light to see if it is getting current, or plug in a cell phone charger to see if you are getting current. Our it could be the the lighter insert, a burnt out element and not the socket.

Is the cigarette lighter also the plug for cell phone charger?

The cigarette lighter plug should also work for the phone charger as long as the phone charger uses the cigarette lighter style plug(long with two metal contacts on the sides and a button contact on the tip). Most standard car chargers will fit both cigarette and auxillary style plugs.

Cigarette lighter won't charge

IF YOU HAVE A TEST LIGHT, TEST center contact INSIDE THE LIGHTER OUTLET IF IT SHOWS POWER YOUR PROBLEM IS THE GROUND. And The Ground is INCORPERATED into A Bundle Located @ or around Electrical Center= Fuse / Relay BOX under hood. Sounds like a (BODY GROUND) Problem. Also Be Sure it is NOT a KEY ON Curciut. I Have a Carivan that the Cig. Lighters Work ONLY with KEY ON. Hope this is Of Help to you ! .
