Im not sure what engine you have since this information was not provided. But the Power Steering Pump pulley usually has some 'holes' on the pulley in which you can get a wrench through to loosen and remove the bolt.

I just did the removal of my Power steering pump so I could get to the last water pump bolt. I used a 1/4 inch drive socket wrench with a 1/2 inch shallow well socket and a 1 and a half inch extension. I put the extension and socket through one of the large outside holes in the PS pulley and was able to remove the two bolts. The one you can see pretty easily as it is not far from the last water pump bolt (1/2 inch) , the second one is on the bottom and you have to do it pretty much by feel. When you go to put the pump back on, put the top one in first, and get the bolt to start. Turn it a few turns to keep in in there. Now do the bottom one. Once again, this is a blind one and it may take you a few minutes to get it in there. Once you have both started, then tighten them both up. If the fuse box it unbolted and out of the way, it gives you a better view of what you are doing.

Remove your battery and unattach the fuse box from the fender. After you remove the belt line the holes on the pulley with the bolt on the power steering. It's a tight fit but can be done.

1994 Pontiac Bonneville-- The water pump needs to be removed, but there is a bolt behind the power steering pump pully that needs to be removed, how do I remove the bolt without removing the power ste

Does the PS pulley have any holes in it? If it does you should be able to put the socket through the hole and remove it. If not use an offset box end wrench. Its shaped like a half moon and gets into tight spots. If you need the procedure go to ebsco.com and look it up. You will need a u/n and p/w to access the info. Google for the pair and you should be able to find ones that will get you access. If not your local library gets free access, you can get ti there.

How to remove water pump on a 98 oldsmobile intrigue

It is very easy! Take off belt by putting a wrench or socket on tensioner pully and rotating it. belt will come right off. You will have to drain coolant. then take out all of the bolts holding the water pump on. you will have to remove the power sterring pump to get to the very back bolt. Make sure you clean old gasket off of the motor and install new gasket with sealer. reassemble in reverse order.
On '98s at least there is an access hole in the p/s pulley that gives you access to that last bolt
I found no access hole except through the power steering which was easier to remove than the PS pully that a pully remover does not have sufficient room. Two bolts top and bottom through the access holes for the PS pump and it is out of the way of the last water pump bolt.

How do you get the pully cover off the water pump for 2000 olds intrigue. removed the 4 bolts and it does not come off.

Hello: Something doesn't sound correct. Is the water pump driven by the belt that drives the alternator, a/c compressor and power steering pump? If so the you may have to tap on it with a hammer to break it loose from the engine. Make sure you clean all the old gasket off before installing the replacement.

Can't remove water pump from 2007 Dodge Grand -

you must undo the three pully bolts turn the pully so it slips behind the mounting flange , then you should be able to wiggle it out , if it still hangs on frame you a long pry bar and push between frame and crankshaft bolt just hard enough to move engine slightly, this will definitly work and repeat to install. PS use a little RTV silicon to hold seal on new pump.

How do you install a power steering belt on a 2000 Hyundai Accent? specs; 1.5l I4, sohc, 5 spd manual.

hi from uk easy enough job first disconnect battery earth lead then there is a slotted bracket thet is like on alternator adjuster using 12 mm spanner open end slacken off the bolt that is just behind thewater pump pully then the mounting bolt for the pump you can see below the pump ? slacken this now if you pull up the belt it will slacken and you can remove it this belt is small as it drives the p/steer pump from the outer pully of water pump fit new belt ensuring it fits correctly in grooves ? now using a suitable bar / flat tyre bar suitable position bar between p/steer pump and its mounting bracket that is bolted to side engine block lever gently to tighten belt and whilst holding bar leverage with belt adjusted ? tighten the adjuster slide bolt release bar and recheck belt tension ? retighten the lower mounting bolt also 12 mm job done! hope this helps ? ps you do not say if you have A/C but this is run of crank pully to a/c pump so no problem

How do i change a water pump in a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix

Hope the following will help.
1) Drain the radiator.
2) Loosen the 4 bolts on the water pump pulley. You will remove the pulley and install it on the new pump. Just loosen the bolts 1/4" turn with the belt still on, this will prevent the pulley from turning.
3) Remove serpentine belt.
4) Remove 4 bolts and the pulley and set aside.
5) Remove two power steering pump bolts (15mm). You must do this because one of the bolts for the water pump is behind the PS pulley, and you cant remove it without moving the PS pump out of the way. The bolts on the PS pump are in the 12 oclock and 6 oclock position. There is a large access hole in the PS pump pulley. Just line it up, slip in a long socket and remove them. Let the PS pump rest on the oil filter housing.
6) Remove water pump. There are 4 large bolts (15mm) and 4 small bolts (3/8") on the water pump. After the bolts are all out, I placed a length of pipe on the water pump and gave it a couple taps with a hammer and it popped right off.
7) Remove old gasket. The tool of choice IMO is a razor blade like youd use to remove a winshield inspection sticker. Be careful not to score the mating surface. Remove old gasket and dry off surface.
8) Seat the new gasket and water pump in place, install all the bolts.
9) Reinstall the PS pump and torque bolts.
10) Install pulley on water pump and torque.
11) Install serpentine belt.
12) Re-torque bolts on water pump pulley if needed.

1999 Buick Park Avenue water pump removal

that is not an idler pully that is the power steering pully if you feel through the holes in the pully you will feel the 13 mm head bolts that hold the pump to the block remove those bolts the pump will drop down and you can then remove the water pump also you have to remove the studs using the inverted torx end on the stud to unscrew it then the mount will come out
