Hi....
On your question, The AIR BAGS will fit. on the screw and the space, because they look the same.
But will Not work. The connectors are a little different.
And the Ressistance is different and 95 and 00.
The Important. On 1998 ford change the Airbag Software, mean the Resistance on the Air bags before 1998 is different that 1998 and UP. Caalled Second Generation AIR BAG System. The Air bag Light will be ON . If you put the 95 on a 00 vehicle.

Ok... I hope this help on your question.

SOURCE: replacing air bags for my 2000 mustang

I am going to suggest that you take it to your Ford dealer for diagnosis and or repair. You don't even want to mess with the air bag system if not qualified. If you ground something out , or cause some static electricity to arc you can deploy the air bags. This would be a very expensive mistake. Also when they deploy they do so with extreme force and can hurt you since you would not be in the position you would normally be in when seated and driving. I would hate to see you get hurt trying to save a few bucks and wind up in the hospital at the same time.

ECMs for the airbags are a one time use item. There in no way (that I know of) to clear them if a bag deploys. If there was not any codes before you took it out you should be fine.

2001 pontiac grand am air bag module reset

Yes!!! You can replace it yourself.(Dont let others fool you into paying extra or telling you otherwise.)
-This is for pontiac grand ams 1999-2005 only.
-There are no frontal airbag impact sensors nor are there belt tensioners.
-The SRS system consists of only the (driver airbag) ,(passanger airbag),and the (airbag control module) in 1999-2005 grand ams.

If you crash/wrecked and airbags deployed you will need.
-Driver and Passanger airbags
-Airbag control module

You can buy cheap airbags from a local junkyard any year from 1999-2005 will fit.
You can also find an airbag control module for cheap at your local junk yard BUT YOU MUST FIND ONE WITH THE SAME (PART NO.) AND (SERV NO.) AS THE ONE YOUR REPLACING.The (part no.) and (serv no.) should be at top left of airbag control module. However it does (Not) have to match numbers under barcode or the numbers at the far bottom right of airbag control module.

After you get both airbags and airbag module
-Disconnect car Battery
-Replace airbags
-Replace airbag module (under passanger seat)
-Double check all connections and connect battery.

Congradulations!Your airbags should be back online.

Notes: Two torx 35 head screws hold the driver airbag, access is through two holes behind steering column.
To remove passanger airbag you have to remove glovebox it uses (7mm)screws.After you remove you will see a pair of (10mm)screws holding airbag.
To remove airbag control module First remove passanger seat 2(15mm).Then after removing you will notice a raises area kinda like a vertical bump.Take a razor blade to your carpet and cut it to explose the module underneath.
The airbag module is held by three screws depending on the year of your car it varies. Most likely 3 (10mm).

Fuse for AIr Bags

air bags are not fused. The fuse is a link that blows on the circuit board of the airbag diagnostic monitor whenever the system is deployed in an accident, so to replace the fuse u replace the airbag monitor module.
