The ignition switch,is on bottom of the steering column. The key just moves a rood hocked to the switch. It can adjusted losening two small screws, and sliding it up or down. Check it by pulling the conector and using an owm meter.

How do fix my 2005 chevy equinox

If the engine is cranking properly, then the problem either has to be in ignition or fuel delivery systems. And if you have an automatic, you might want to check the neutral safety switch for proper operation. And do not ignore the ignition switch.

2002 CHEVY SIVERADO NO SPARK

check at the key lock and cylinder and the ignition switch, GM has had a lot of issues with this problem on a number of vehicles. The coil pack needs to receive the signal from the ignition to complete the circuit, if no signal from the switch, it will not produce any codes and cause a no spark issue. I would start with testing the switch with a multimeter for a resistance reading.

I have a 2004 Chevy Suburban 1500 with 103,000 miles. I am having problems when starting. When the key is turned, the engine will turn over but not start. Turn the key back to off and re-start and the...

Check for power out of the ignition switch. It sounds like the ignition switch is not engaging on the first try and its taking that second turn to get power from the switch to the ECU and so forth. I would replace the switch and possibly the tumbler if the key comes out while the vehicle is running.

There is no spark thus car won't start. the battery is fine, it turns over good, it is not flooded, the spark plugs are new, the ignition coil was just replaced, what else controls the spark

The Crankshaft Position Sensor and the Ignition Control Module also control the spark. It depends on whether your vehicle is equipped with the 2.2L engine or the 2.4L engine as to where these components are located and what they look like.

Random misfire after new spark plugs and wires

Check the firing order. If it wasn't happening before then that's most likely your culprit. For a 2005 Chevy Suburban the firing order is as follows;
1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3

Another thing to check is resistance in the plugs and wires. Check to make sure they all have the factory specified resistance.

Put an injector noid light at the injector plug terminals to see if your getting a signal from the PCM(computer).If not try to find a computer from the same vehicle that works and swap it into yours to check.A PCM swap will take about 15minutes.

1993 suburban won't crank when hot

There are quite a few things to check, start with checking fuel and spark. One or the other isn't working at the time of NO START. Things to check: ECT sensor(engine coolant temp.), TP sensor(throttle positioning), fuel pump and relay (), spark-plugs, wires, cap&rotor, air&fuel filter, PCV, ignition control module (can be tested for free at AUTO-ZONE or most other part stores), IAC (idle control valve), no crank signal (defective ignition switch), or PROM. I think that with all the extra cranking something else is bad now. Check the battery, should have 12.5 volts (cold), the fuse, connections, and bench test the new starter, it might be defective. Hope this helps you, if you have any other questions, please ask away.
