Question about 1990 Chevrolet Corsica
I came across one of your answers to a question about a heating issue. heres the link to it http://www.fixya.com/cars/t1332405-heating_system_not_working_properly well i have a very similar issue with my moms 90 chevy corsica. I can hear the blower motor working and the speed changes when i change the speed but when i change the selector from defrost to vent or anything the amount doesny change at all it barely blows out from any of the spots its supposed to. The air does heat up just isnt blowing right. I ssaw your answer to the other question was replace the heaster core but my mom had hers replaced not even a year ago and the air heats up so could it be that or maybe a vacuumn line issue? I've also been told it might be the diveter door in the heater box? Thanks alot, just trying to narrow it down without completely tearing the car alot.
I think your on the right track with the vaccum/heater issue. Its not the core if its just not blowing out of the right vents. Find the plunger on the side of the hvac box that controls the selector door by squeezing the plunger by hand to see if it changes what vent it blows out of. If it does change when you do this, its a vaccum issue between the plunger and the vaccum bar. Trace the vac line from the plunger back to the bar, I bet you find your problem.
