Getting Code P0753 Trans Solenoid 3-4 '99 Dodge Durango

I've had this prob off and on for the whole year. The truck won't go into overdrive, it hesitates and has high rpm's. I took it to AAMCO, and they gave me this code, but wanted me to pay $190 to do another test to find out exactly what the problem is. I took it to Meineke and they gave me the same code but told me what needed to be fixed without the 2nd test. They said I need to replace the Solenoid 3-4 and to do that they would have to take out the trans. Total cost would be about $500. Is there anything else to check before I do this. The check engine light turned off the other day and it was running fine, but now it's back on again. Could there be something with the wiring, a short maybe? Any help would be appreciated!!

The trans does not need to be removed to replace the solenoid. the solenoid is in the valvebody and that is only under the pan. try taking it to the dealer at least the ywill know what has to be done to correctly repair that problem. and that will most likely save you money.

Aside from getting into an accident and having your wiring harness severely damaged, the other likely suspect is your PCM. These codes are not related to each other and indicate a much larger problem.

Coud p0753 durango 1998

DTC P0753 is for the 3-4 shift solenoid in the trans.
This is an electrical code, it will set when the voltage seen by the engine controller on the solenoid's control circuit is incorrect. The solenoid pack gets a constant 12v from the trans relay and is controlled by the engine controller by switching ground.

Since you don't have a code for the TCC solenoid that shares the same relay feed and you don't have a trans relay code set we know the problem is isolated to the solenoid or it's control wire. It could be a short, broken wire, or corrosion in the control wire between the trans and engine controller, but this is almost always the solenoid itself.

This code is not not saying replace parts. They say check it out on yours a code 753 points to a 3-4 shift solenoid relay problem or wiring problem. Other thing to check could be the speed sensor module that screws into the side of the transfer case. back feeding bad info to ECM.

I have a 2000 derango with a 4.7 and my trans shifts funny. It shifts from first to third, bypassing second. When put into second it will be in second but won't go to first manually. Overdrive saloon...

P0700 Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. You will need to have your TCM code scanned to figure out what the problem is. Most likely it's a bad solenoid in the transmission. Most automotive shops have the TCM scanner.

My 2000 dodge durango v8 5.9L is getting 3 error code 0443, 0753, 1753 how to fix?

P0443 EVAP Purge Solenoid Circuit Malfunction Check your gas cap make sure that it is on tight, or just replace roughly 7 dollars.

P0753 3-4 Solenoid/Transmission Relay Circuit Malfunction - With Automatic Transmission I would try clearing the codes and seeing if this one comes back on. If it does then you need the Transmission Relay, it is located in the engine compartment.

1753 is your transmission lockup solenoid is bad. I would replace this solenoid and it will most likely clear the code for the P0753 or since you are going to be in there you can just replace both.

Everything is at your local parts store, they might have to order it but that will take 1 day

This code means theres a problem with the shift soleniod for the 3-4 shift, have this soleniod tested, its locted on the valvebody if the pan was dropped you will see the soleniod.

2000 dodge durango overdive solenoid is faiuling,

That solenoid is inside the trans. The fact you were towing something heavy had nothing to do with the failure. You need to take it to a shop that can check the cvi's(clutch volume index) & some other critical components.

Dodge durango po753

On your first listing you under 04 durango. But now it makes more sense. On that year truck i have replaced the 3-4 shift solenoid for this code many times. You have to remove the valve body from the trans. The solenoid mounted on the valvebody.

Transmission code PO753, how to repair?

PO753 code on a Durango can also be caused by a bad transmision relay in the relay -fuse block behind the battery in the engine compartment. (relay # 31 on 1999 Durango) Before you attempt to replace the 3-4 solenoid, or take to a transmission shop, try changing the relay out with another known good relay, reset the code and try it. I learned this today from an honest transmission shop. Shifts normally again, check engine light is out, and the shop did not charge me a dime. Kudos to Trans Medic in Gresham OR.
