I honestly don't remember... it runs through drums etc inside unit and If I remember right, it has a retainer somewhere in there. I haven't done a swap like this in a long time but generally, GM does not make a seperate unit for 2wd & 4x4s except for tailshaft.

A quick tip for you. Believe it or not the shape of the oil pan gasket is often the key to knowing if they are compatible. if the gaskets are the same shape they are likely the same.

Will a chrysler engine go into a chevy truck

It would certainly be much easier to stay with a GM drive train.
Everything the Chrysler setup touches would need to be modified.
Wiring, exhaust, cooling, even the driveshaft. And that work would make the truck worth much less than if it had a stock drive train.

Cv shaft has a lot of play where its pinned to trans , bad cv or trans output shaft?

hi it would more than likely be a bad cv as the trans would vibrate or knock if it had excess play in the shaft

I have a 2000 AWD Chrysler Town and Country. I need to change the output shaft oil seal on the transfer case that goes to the prop shaft and to the back axle. Do I drop the prop shaft down and then...

you are correct on the whole sequence you explanined, just be sure to have a pan to catch the fluid that will come out of the trans when you pull the output shaft out.. as far as how tight to put the nut back on, cant really anwer that question...it doesnt have a crush sleeve or anything in to to worry about messing up, so as long as its tight you will be fine, just dont crank on it excessively.

How hard is it to replace rear end output shaft seals (inner axel seals) 98 town and country? What fluid goes back in?

I assume you mean trans axle seals in front.
You have to remove the drive axles, best done on a lift, not in your driveway.
Trans fluid lubes the Diff, that is in trans.
ATF4 etc, whatever the fluid replaced the original spec, when it was new.

4L-60E trans interchange

Sorry it will not work, the internals are the same but the transmission housing has changed. The key distinction of the Later 4L60-E (1997-2006) from the Early 4L60-E (1992-1997) or 4L60 (1990-1992) or 700R4 (1982-1989) is the six-bolt "hex" rear output or tail-housing / adapter pattern. The previous versions featured a four-bolt square bolt pattern at the adapter or tail-housing. Additionally, the removable bell-housing is also another distinguishing feature.

Two-wheel-drive versions have tail-housings and typically a longer output shafts than four-wheel-drive versions, which have various adapter assemblies and a shorter output shaft.

Transmission for 1988, 350, conversion van

A turbo400 trans will bolt up but you will have to change the drive shaft as the output shaft is longer than the 350 trans. There will be no trans exchange with a different type that will fit without some modifications.

Clunk in trans

If this is a 4X4 then the problem is most likely the slip yoke not sliding smoothly on the transfer case output shaft splines. You can correct this bt lubricating the slip yoke splines with Teflon Grease .
If it is a 4X2 then lube the output shaft splines on the back of trans.

1990 Dodge 250 2wd trans fit 4x4 1988 Ramcharger

if you are talking about the trans no! the 2wd trans has a longer output shaft than the 4x4 you can have the shaft changed so that it can work if you are having trouble finding a trans.

Speedometer goes to 0 and trans downshifts

There are 2 speed sensors on the transaxle. One is for vehicle speed and one is for trans output shaft speed. My guess is that you replaced the one for output shaft speed.
