Question about 1996 Buick Regal Olympic Gold
My problem that I am having is with the speed sensor on a 1996 Century.
I have replaced an old speed sensor w/ a new one due to the vehicles odometer and transmission acting up. The odometer is not reading and the transmission shifting hard.
So I replaced the speed senor w/ a new sensor and the problem was not fixed.
What do you think is happening?
May want to see if the parts store gave you a good sensor or not. Also May want to check and see if you have a transmission input and output sensor as well. these will also give you the same symptoms. Whatever it is, the transmission is not sending the speed signal to your ECU which is in turn not sending the right shift points until its too late causing the hard shifting and also since the ECU doesnt have a speed signal you may not get an odometer/speedometer reading (one or both may go out). Hope this gives you some direction. Good luck. Thanks for using fixya.
