Question about 1995 Nissan Maxima
Recently approx. 3 days ago I hit a shallow bump while driving and all of the speakers in my vehicle cut out. I've checked the fuses in the box inside the cab near the steering wheel, the 15A fuse under the "BOSE" position was burnt out, I've replaced that and it didn't work. I read that it may have been a resistor inside the actual Bose head unit, so I've replaced the head unit, with the appropriate wire harness, the new head unit has power, and does work because it sends a signal through my subwoofers, just not the speakers. Is there a fuse somwhere inside the actual dash enclosure? I noticed a small black box on the floor when replacing the head unit that I didn't bother with, there was also what looked like a clip that may have been holding a fuse. I've also been told that each speaker in the bose system comes stock with its own amp, and that they may have blown but the chances of all 4 fuses going out at the same time are highly unlikely. I don't beleive its a problem with the wiring, I saw nothing out of the ordinary when putting on the wire harness. I've also put my ear up to the speaker and notices a very low steady hiss/whisping noise indicating that the speakers do have some sort of power running to them. What could be causing this?

sounds funny but disconnecr the battery and then hook it back up-I did this and power was restored to my radio-I have no idea why this worked.

SOURCE: bose amp in a 1999 yukon denali
To isolate what speaker is what set of wires, I always use a AA 1.5V battery and touch one end of each set of wires on each end of the battery, and you'll hear a crackle from the speaker they belong to, then I label it. Can use AA,AAA,A,C,D battery doesn't matter as long as 1.5v. Don't know if that's what you were looking for or not. Old trick from years ago.

each speaker in your car runs the wiring thru an amp. So each spkear has its own amp for the bose system. You can not hook up a none bose radio If you do you will need to run new wires and replace all the speakers. Sorry.
