you can assess the codes by turning the key on and off three times the third time leave the key on and the service engine soon light will start flashing count the flashes it will flash three times, this means you have accessed the ECM then the light will flash the code example for a 32 code it will flash 3 times then pause then flash 2 times when all the codes are done it will flash 3 times.

Another thing is see if you can hear the fuel pump buzz when you turn the key on??? im guess you have a bad fuel pump

if it not firing change the coils if thats not it then you may want to check the fuse but if not firing i would check the coil because where they are located on the engine under the mainfold it gets real hot there

My 91 chevy beretta wont start

You have a short in the system somewhere. You will need to get a mechanic to do testing to isolate teh problem or get a haynes repair manual for your vehicle so you can use the electrical system troubleshooting guide to isolate the problem.

Engine turns over getting fuel but wont start. I have an 89 chevy beretta 2.8

Check for spark. If none replace coil then replace spark plugs because continuous startlng w/ no spark loads the plugs with fuel, fouling them.
