Question about 2004 Nissan Sentra

1 Answer

Lights have gone out on dash console and gear console.

The lights on the console display for the fan, heater, etc, went out. Also the light for the gear shift console also went out. I checked the fuses but they are all fine. How do I check the lights? Can i easily disassemble parts of the consoles to get at the lights?

From my experience you are better off if you take it to a shop and have a professional take the instrument cluster apart. Especially on newer cars this is something best left to the pros.

No dash lights when headlights are turned on. Everything works fine on my vehicle EXCEPT today the panel lights don't work. Turn signals, hazard blinker, oil gauge, rpm gauge, speedometer, drive shift...

there is a regulator for the display brightness, you may have it turn'd down or it has stopped working;. it controls the brightness at which the dash lights are. usually has a speedo sign on it. goes up and down. it works with the main light and is conecter to them on the same lighting board if it has gone then a new light swtch control switch will be needed.

All my lights work except my gear shift console letters.

If your dash lights are working, then you probably just have a burned out light bulb.

The light that lights up the shifting console is out. Is this a bulb or fuse? How can I get it working so that I see my gears at night?

if the otjer dash lights work then it is a bulb gone out. if none of the dash lights work you have a bad fuse or possibly a bad dimmer wheel. to replace the bulb you will need to remove the plastic shroud from around the shifter.

Intrument panel lights went out completely (dash lights), and when I turn on my headlights my clock, my gear indicator light on the instrument panel, and heater control displays go out.

There are a few things that can cause this. Check your fuse first. Could be marked Dash. If not, you will have to check the wires in the steering column with a wire schematic. If you have a question, please write back. I am here to help. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Display lights for heater/AC do not light

Check display fuse for the dash and console. The fuse may be blown that lights up the console.
