I got into my car the other day and tryied to start it and it will not. All the lights on the dashboard come on but just will not start. I drove the car the the before and before that as well.
The first time this happened to me, it was diagnosed as the crank sensor. It happened again shortly after and what we do is get out of the car and open and close the doors and the boot. Then it starts. it works for us!

Hi. i had the same problem . it can be the ignition switch. i have replaced mine. then car started running :D
make a short contact if the car start the engine . then it is the ignition swich . if not it could be the starter ..

mine turns over but it appears its not getting any spark, I don't have a book and the relays are confusing....I tried the online book on eAutorepair but it is not helping
my problem turned out being the crank sensor
have 316i and it starts but when you release accelerator it loses power, has been impled it may be the fuel pump, does anyone know where i can locate it on a 316i? i dont have a manual!!
