Question about 2005 BMW X5
It started with keyless would not operate but i could crank now i can't crank nor does keyless work
I think the battery in this key is dead. the ignition is suppose to recharge the key through normal use. if the key is not used often enough, it will lose its charge and need to be reprogrammed by the dealer.
try your other key to see if it will work. once you get them both working again, make sure to rotate them every 6 months so both maintain a full charge.
if you find the ignition is not recharging the key, then a trip to the dealer will be necessary to get it fixed. you might still be covered by the 4 year bumper to bumper warranty as long as you are under 50,000 miles regardless if you bought it new or used at a non BMW dealership or private sale.
