hi thanx again for this problem but the mechanic have tried to test the car wheels and lifted the car up and start the engine as normal .the lights turn and off as normal cars when u start the engine then the next step was to turn each wheel at time and see the reaction on abs light and all wheel tend to turn abs lights on by slightly rotating them.

hi thanks for the help i do appreciate alot this problem started about three weeks ago and i have been with this car for about two years with no other problems.the issue of turning the wheel was jst checking which wheel might be triggering the abs lights on.when i start driving.so what they did was to lift the car on lamp and check the rotating each wheel at time because the abs light come on only when i start driving in other words when the wheels rotating/turning.

ABS--

Most likely cause is the 'stop lamp switch'
It is a electric switch located on the brake pedal inside the car, about half way up on the brake pedal.
Pretty cheap too, I think the switch is only like $25 bucks.
2 connectors on the switch and then it turns out.
hope that helps
Fan relay should be in black box near frewall

Merc e class 1996... ets warning light constantly on , but no problem with abs.. any ideas

This is just a traction control light.....If one wheel out spins the other it will make it come on at times ..You need a scan tool but you can disconnect the negative battery cable for 20 seconds and the light will go off......If it comes on again you will have to change wheel speed sensor...This is common with all vehicles with Traction control and ABS...Have it checked for saftey reasons...
But it happens with a lot of them.........Sensor replacement is normally what you have to do.
Sometimes battery disconnect works....You will have to reset clock.
Hope this helps..........................Metalpoet

ABS is not working but the ABS light is not on.

Early ABS can lock up the tires, best bet is the pads need replaced and there is air in the system.

ABS / ETS lamp on dishboard appear to my mercedes E320 96

Have your brake pads and rotors checked if you have worn pads this will activate the ABS Antilock Braking System light. The ETS Electronic Traction System uses this ABS to prevent skidding if the tires should lose traction.

Can't find a BAS light in the manual , there is however a ABS light , which is a antilock brake system warning light . Check your tire presures before you check with the toyota service people.
ABS systems monitor the speed of the rotation of the tires , if one is low , the car sees it as a problem.

Mercedes 1996 e300d abs light not working + rev counter not work

There is a fuse box underhood and one under the rear seat next to the battery. I would definitely check for a blown fuse first.

hi there it sounds to me like the brake calipar is either loose or the brake pad has separated and if this happens it will also damage the abs sensor
