If the timing is out on the Distributor,the you got at chain or idler gear probleme. or worn gears,mark distributor then remove and check gears that drive the distributor.good luck.
I would not use it unless your owners manual specifys Dexron. I know on the Gen. 1 Voyagers ie.1984 to 1990 They required Mopar ATF+3 or transmission damage and failure was common if DEXRON was used.
