Is the steering column locked? If so try jiggling steering wheel back and forth while trying to remove key. It could be the locking pin in the column preventing the key from being turned far enough to be removed.

Remote works for everything but vehicle will not start

Does it try to crank, or is there no response when you turn the key?

If it tries to crank but can't turn over it is probably the battery, and might be the starter. If it is close to cranking, make sure the headlights and air conditioning are off when you try to start it. If the battery is dead you can get a jump or take it to an auto parts store to have it charged, most will do it free (autozone for one). If the car still won't start after getting a jump or a new battery, it is likely the starter.

If there is no response at all when you turn the key, I'm not sure. Check the fuses. Maybe the fuse or relay going to the starter is blown. Maybe there is some advanced security feature like an RFID key that has failed.

Key was left on ignition of camry 2007. Car wouldn't start, jumpstarted and then it started, but no rpm or response to gas pedal. The radio does not work either. My son replaced the fuel fuse but

You most likely blew a relay. It's just like blowin a fuse only a bit bigger. It sounds like maybe your secondary ignition. Your relay box should be on the drivers side, either right on top(when u open the hood) or mounted to either the firewall or the fender

I have a 2006 Dodge Charger. Went out yesterday, car started fine. Got home and stooped at my mailbox, when I went to start the car it wouldn't start. I did notice the lights on the dash would go dim...

I'd start with a battery first. Sounds like the battery has 1 or more dead cells in it. the battery may have all the volts you could want but if it doesn't have the proper amperage it won't crank the motor. You can have the battery load tested for free at Auto Zone or Advance Auto. A simple down and dirty test would be to disconnect the Positive cable and jump the vehicle by connecting directly to that and a good ground on the block. The motor should turn over as long as the vehicle you use as a jump has the proper amperage in it's battery. If the vehicle starts then it is the battery, if it doesn't then you need to look at the starter and other components.

My 1998 88 oldsmobile will not start the light comes on, able close and open windows and open and lock car door, got a jump start still will not start.

Hi, Thanks for you inquiry. I hate you are having trouble. Let me start by asking a question to better understand the problem. When you turn your key to the ignition( the setting that you engine would normally try to turn over) , does you cars engine try to turn over? I only ask this question because it can possibly rule out a few big possibilities. Please hit me back with a response at your earliest convenience.
thanks again

I lost the key to my 92 acura integra..i need to go to work tomorrow and i cant start the car with no key?? anyn ideas on how to get it started with no key?

Well you can start it without the key, but it wouldnt do you any good, because the steering wheel, will be locked, and you wont be able to turn. But if you want to start it...all you have to do is jump the starter, but i really wouldnt recommend it....

Starter issues with 98 Ford Windstar (3.8)

one problem that the 98 winstars ( 3,8L ) are prone to is the transmission range sensor. they are badly located and not well sealed. As a result corosion...
The starter solenoid wire ( red/ light blue ) runs throught the range sensor before reaching the ignition switch.
Try shifting back and forth between Park and L1 rapedly at least 5, 6 times and then try starting in Neutral.
If it starts the TRS is easy to replace and accesible.
( The TRS is also responsible for the transmission going into irradical kick down mode )
