Question about 2004 Ford Taurus
My 2004 Ford Taurus does turn over; so I guess I cna say that it doesn't start. If I keep my foot on the gas pedal- the engine continues to rev; but if I take it off- it turns the engine off. My neighbor is a mechanic and he replaced the alternator; but the car won't start. I don't see ny messages on the computer and haven't a clue as to what it could be next. Brakes, Battery and tires are all new.
I was told that my compressor was going; but I think that has to do with the A/C. Would that cause the car to not start? I don't want to be told that there is 20 different things wrong with my car when I take it to the shop tomorrow. I'd at least like to sound like I have a clue.
I have a 2003 taurus and I happen to stumble across the solution to your problem. There is a crank sensor plug diagonally down from the alternator. If something is wrong with that plug or it's not connected the car WILL NOT start.
