This is a hard one. I was going to suggest taking it to a dealer so they can reset your counter and have it service but maybe take it to a "NON- MANUFACTURING DEALER" and compare prices.

The thing about codes is that even if you solve the problem they dont go away.. What you need to do is use a diagnostic tool, clear all error codes and then reset the system.. If you dont have a diagnostic tool the nearest autotechnician would and he can do it for you... No workaround it must be done.. Some system can be reset by disconecting the negative battery pole, press the brake ring down for one minute, release and connect back the pole,, see if that helps ,, if not find someone with a diagnostic too to clear all errror codes and reset the system.

Try serviceing the fuel injection system, the throttle body and position sensor, and change filters oil and the engine timing belt.. It could be the vehicle requires servicing.. You need to clear the codes when this is done as well.

I have a 2005 dodge ram 5.7 hemi i have changed spark plugs, wires and crank shaft positioning cencer and the check engine light still comes on used a diagnostic and code po300 comes up random multiple...

I had the same problem and replaced the Crank sensor with one from the auto parts store, it lasted a month, then failed. Then I got a sensor from DODGE (dealer) and no more problems. The perameters for those sensors that come from the autoparts store are such that they fit a veriety of vehicles. The one you get from your local dealer is more specific to your vehicle. When this sensor malfunctions, it can created multiple trouble codes, but it's a single fix. Also check that your wires are routed correctly.

I have a few error codes for my 2004 dodge ram hemi 1500 4x4. they are po172, po300, and po304.

The p0172 is due to an O2 sensor in the exhaust seeing too much oxygen, the po300 is a missfire present and p0304 is cylinder #4 missfire, check plug and wire to #4 and repair, this should also take care of the p0172, if a cylinder is missing it is just pump air into the exhaust thus causing the code p0172.

Where is po311 intake sensor in a 2001 chevy malibu

po311 is cylinder 11 is misfiring. so you must have the wrong code. are you talking about the intake air tempurature sensor, IAT. if so it is located in big hose from air cleaner, the first sensor in hose. po113 is this sensor.

1996 olds cutlas supreme, 3.1 L has trouble codes PO171 and PO300. Any Ideas?

The po300 is a misfire code. This means there is probably a plug, plug wire, ignition coil,or ignition module.Check the coil towers one at a time. These are know for corroding. If you find one that is corroded then replace the plug wire also.Po171 is a lean condition code. The po300 could be causing the po171.If you have not had a tune up Now would be a good time.Hope this helps.Good luck.

2004 chev. silverado 6.0 liter. The engine code po300 and po322 came up. I reset the codes and po 322 came up again. I just changed the plugs approx. 400 mile ago. Could the codes come from a bad plug or...

Yes they could a PO300 is a generic misfire code. PO301 would be cylinder number 1 so on and so forth. check the resistance of your plug wires they should be approx. 7000 ohms per foot. it could also be a coil over plug. primary resistance of the cops should be 1-3 ohms. but since this is a misfire it would be your secondary. which should be between 20000-30000 ohms. hope I helped you out. Happy Motoring!

2002 1500 rough idle wont go over 35 mph service engine soon

Have you O2 sensors checked out. I have blowen out 2 on the same bank, sounds like the same problem. Check engine light will stay on solid, blink for a while, solid. Surefire way to check is run your finger in the tailpipe after it is cooled down. If it is very black with soot, then it probably is the O2 sensor.
