Question about 2001 Kia Sportage
I bought a used 2001 Kia Sportage this pass summer and it runs pretty good, but the radio works for about 3 minutes and then the word "CODE" comes on the display screen and the radio stops! What is going on with this? Is there a setting that I need to fix or is the thing just broken? Help Me please! I take long drives and it gets pretty boring on the road and not to mention I need to keep up with what's going on with traffic and weather emergencies
your car will have a security code for the radio
this is there so if some one steals your radio and put it in there car it will ask for a code and unless they have it if they don't it will be useless to them as it will do what you are doing now
if you have the owners manual you can look in there for a radio code
this will be a 4 digit code
you need to enter it when prompted
if you don't have the code go to your local KIA service center and they will be able to get it for you
hope this helps
