Question about 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 4wd 4.3L that will not start. The truck went through a mud hole and stopped running immediately. Water got up into the air cleaner box and drenched the MAF sensor. Very little, but for a few drops of water got to the throttle body. Have spark at #1 and #2 plug wires at sparkplug, did not check the rest. Sprayed starter fluid directly into throttle body, no hint of anything firing. I am getting code P1351, (Ignition Diagnostic Monitor circuit input fault).
I am leaning toward there being an issue with the crankshaft position sensor. Is it vulnerable to getting soaked with water and it putting out an incorrect signal?
Does the motor turn over with the key. you said it stopped suddenly. two things that will stop it running. fuel and spark. figure out which one you don't have and that will help a lot. how big was the mud hole? or how deep was the truck in the hole?

I agree, disconnect the battery, and try resetting the CPU. Also if it got wet then there could be some random wire shorting out. Your CPU is located just above the wheel hub closest to your battery inside the engine cmptmnt.

I'd disconnect my battery, and start unplugging every sensor connector, computer connector etc that I could find and spray them with contact cleaner, blow them off if you have compressor, add a little di-electric grease and put them all back together & try that first. You never know, you just might cure it, and materials are cheap.
