SOURCE: Brake Light Switch clip on 94 GMC Pickup

My 1996 Brake light clip needed to spread open with a screw driver(some what like a round spring) and with another screw driver push the switch up the pin. The switch will push the clip off the Pin. The pin has a head that needs to clear clip while the spring clip is spread open. It took me a while to figure out.

2003 GMC Envoy brake lights don't work. I changed all of the bulbs and checked all fuses related to the brakes. But, all 3 brake lights stilll don't work. Please advise what this could be or what to try...

45f0f078-f718-4dfc-ba09-177f0829dd1e.jpgI would say it's the stop lamp switch located at the brake pedal shaft (see picture). You should have power at all times to the orange wire on the connector at that switch. If you do more than likely that's your problem. If you're mechanically inclinded it's fairly simple to replace. removing it can be a pain due to its location. Hope this helps.....

2003 gmc envoy rear lights won't turn off

As for the brake lights i would think that the brake light switch is faulty. As for the parking lights i think that the parking light relay is sticking.Switch the relay with another one in the fuse panel with the same part number to see if thats the problem or not.

Were the module for the brake lights on 2003 envoy

I'm not sure if there is a brake "module". If you're having a problem with your brake lights...
You checked the fuses?
Are you sure the bulbs are OK?
The brake light switch is probably what you're looking for. It should be attached to the brake pedal arm at the master cylinder linkage. You probably have to remove a plastic panel under the dash. The switch may look like this:

Excursion limited edition. Brake lights stay on.

Check that the pedal height isn't sagging due to low brake fluid level. Also check for adjustment of the brake light switch or the BPP (Brake Pedal Position) switch.

Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Switch Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
  2. Disconnect brake pedal position (BPP) switch electrical connector.
  3. Remove self locking pin.
  4. Remove switch from brake master cylinder push rod.
  5. Remove push rod spacer.
  6. Remove push rod bushing.
To Install:
  1. Install push rod bushing.
  2. Install push rod spacer.
  3. Install switch to brake master cylinder push rod.
  4. Install self locking pin.
  5. Connect electrical connector.
  6. Connect battery negative cable.

No brake lights 1985 f-150

The problem more than likely exists with the brake light switch. It is located under the steering column on the brake pedal shaft. There should be a kotter pin or clip that holds it in place. Remove pin or clip and carefully slide the brake rod off the brake pedal shaft. Disconnect wiring and remove completely. To install, just simply reverse the order of removal. On some model Fords, the brake light switch slides over a rod on the brake pedal shaft. If this is the case, you will need to pull forward on the brake pedal shaft (slightly) to remove the switch. Keep me informed if possible. Any other help, feel free to contact me.

GMC 2003 Envoy SLT my back break lights and tailbar lights stay on when I turn the car off. What could the problem be?

This most likely is a bad or incorrectly adjusted brake light switch. The brake light switch is located under the dash next to the brake pedal arm.

Brake light switch removal on a 2005 chevy trailblazer

Your Brake light switch is mounted up near the top of the brake pedal arm. it is held inplace with a metal pin & a clip, as well as a small electrical connector. Basically, you need to unplug the connector, remove the clip, and pull out the pin that holds the assembly in place.

How to blead brakes on 2003 gmc envoy?

There should be a bleader valve located at each wheels brake assembly. Should be somewhere on the back side of the caliper. Have a second person inside the cab. With the vehicle turned off and the brake fluid cap removed, have the second person pump and hold the brakes. While holding release the bleader valve. Close the bleeder valve. Repeat above process until all air is out of the line. Repeat on the remaining three wheels. Make sure while doing this though you keep the brake fluid full.
