On Rodeo, Amigo, and Pickup (except 1993-95 models W/3.2L engine), connect the single wire diagnostic leads located behind the left hand kick panel together. On 1993-95 Rodeo models W/3.2 engine, the data link is located under the left hand side of the instrument panel. On all models, turn the ignition switch to the On position. Where on the 93 Dodge Dakota do I find the spot for the code reader? under hood or engine compartment?

That is an OBD1 System

Your code reader won't work

You need OBD1 capable reader or
the adapter for an older scan tool

The connector is in the engine compartment

If you need to know where, I will look in my
1992 manual as I departed with my Dakota
june last year.

If you get code I will look them up for you
or tell me the problem your having.

I think the connector is hanging near the
A/C expansion valve on pass side

1993 Saturn SC-1 Cooling fan never turns on.

Does the car overheat at idle? If yes, first check fuse in fusebox in engine compartment. If fuse good, check for voltage at fan connector using test light with engine on and car hot. If no voltage, replace fan relay in engine compartment fusebox. If voltage is present, replace fan. Please reply with any additional questions.

1993 Mercury Cougar XR-7 V-6, Overheating

Your problem could be the coolant temp sensor, or it could be the gauge itself, but something 2 do is if you can get it to a dealer, or a parts store. If you cant get it there, you can get an OBD I scanner and retrieve the code and know why the check engine light is on, but it could be from any of the sensors on the car, would be best to get it scanned.

If you are referring to the Check Engine light then this indicates there is a problem with the emissions system. Have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. The fault code that has been set by the ECU will tell you where to look for the problem. If the engine is running fine there is no hurry, but do have this looked into. If you are referring to the oil pressure light stop driving the car until you get this repaired as it may be serious.

How to change a throttle position sensor on a 94 ford f150 5.0 4x4

How to Replace a Throttle Position Sensor

Parts:
1. Throttle Position Sensor - $ 55.44

Tools:
1. Scan Tool
2. Screwdriver
3. Multimeter

Procedure:
1. Locate the OBD data link connector (DLC). Refer to your owner’s manual for the specific location.
  • Tip: The OBD-I data link connector is usually located in the engine compartment near the battery or the fuse box. The OBD-II connector (post 1995 cars) is usually located beneath the instument panel next to the steering column.
2. Turn your key to the“ON” position. Do not start the engine.

3. Plug your scan tool into the OBD data link connector. Turn on the scan tool and select the appropriate steps to read the diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

  • Tip: The OBD-II diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a 5 character alphanumeric code. The first digit is a letter that indicates the component group, the second digit is OBD mandated or manufacturer specfic, the third digit is a subgroup, and the fourth and fifth digits define the component and basic problem.

How to read engine cose 1990 ford escort 1.9

On board diagnostic (OBD) was designed on vehicles equipped with electronic fuel injection so you can generally retrieve the codes yourself. No need buying a scanner or running to any parts stores to check the engine light. This system is called obd1 and applies to most vehicles made before 1995 for domestics and 1993 on imports.
Ford owners can check their check engine light using the diagnostic connector located at the engine compartment by the fender near the battery. Getting the obd1 codes need a couple of tools: a 4 inch long gage 16 jumper wire and a 12 volt test light. Both tools are hooked up to the diagnostic connector and when the IGNITION KEY is turned on (without starting engine) the codes will begin to flash in the test light, not in the dash panel. If there is no code, you will normally get code 11 or 111. On Fords, there are 2 test modes, the KOEO (key on engine off) and the KOER (key on engine running). Both test modes should be used to get the accurate evaluation of the stored fault codes.
Most of the codes can be erased or cleared by disconnecting the battery negative terminal for 1 minute and reconnect. Just make sure to check your service manual in case you have electronic equipment such as radio or clock that needs reprogramming in which battery disconnection is not recommended. Finally after performing repairs on the culprit code, always go for a road test to confirm if the problem is fixed.
