Re: Need Keycode for 82 honda civic 1500 hatchback
Good luck with your indeavor, From past experience you are probably sol, but if you can remove your door lock cylinder drivers door it will help the locksmith to make a key for you. I just ran into this on an older acura. Wish you the best of luck.

If the car shuts down after the service engine lights on, possible problem is the igniter on your ignition coil. You have to replace the igniter. I had the same problem before with my esi 93 and honda car shop fixed it by replacing the said part. It is better to have the code scanned first. If it gives you 1 long flash followed by 5 short flashes, definitely it is the igniter.
----- Error code radio Honda Civic 2007 -----
power on radio, when you see Error code 1 or 2 or 3 ..., power off the
radio, press the keys 6 and 1 at the same time, and power on, you'll see
the radio serial number, write down this S/N and call your dealer, give
him this S/N, he will give you the code (5 numbers), that's it that's
you need to get a honda dealer to code the key(s)to the car.otherwise it will turn over and die each time you try to start it.(some cars have matching ecm/ignition switches)it would have been easier to tell your local honda dealer the chassis no and they would then have supplied the keys to your car.then coded them.
