Go to Autozone and have them run a test (it's free) to see what trouble code is present, this will help figure out which part has failed.

SOURCE: check engine light illuminated, cruise light

is probably your o2 sensor. measures amount of fuel to oxygen ratio.causing lack of power. depending on v6 or 4 depends on wether you have 2 sensors or not hope this helps, ones by the header pipe and other just behind your catalytic converter on exhaust.

Car has lack of power and engine light has started to blink

The engine light blinking means you have a catalytic converter damaging event taking place ! Need to have it checked out ,checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ! Possibly to late ,lack of power indicates damaged catalytic convert ! Those can cost up $1,000 . don't use cheap aftermarket ones ,they don't work !

HAVE LOW POWER OUTPUT ON MY 2Y FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE WITH A CARBURATOR

I don't know this engine in detail, but we can make a few general statements. In that type of engine, lack of power can be caused by

- a bad spark (check spark plugs for gap and fouling, measure coil resistances, check plug leads)
- lack of fuel (weak fuel pump, blocked filter, blocked jets in carby)
- engine timing off spec (use a timing light to check this)
- lack of compression (use a compression gauge to check this)

Of all these, I'd start with engine timing, then look at a blocked jet in the carby.

When i accelerate going up hill the motor losses power (not electrical power) and the check engine light goes on

Your car most likely is suffering from ownerhatesme syndrome. This is most likely caused by:
A)lack of a much needed oil change.
B)lack of a much needed tune up.
C)lack of transmission fluid.
D)lack of a full systems check.
And finally
E)lack of love from the owner. For they are responsible for buying a ford when they know fords are known to break down and go bad over a short period of time.

And if you have done everything said above, the only problem could be a very dirty engine that struggles to get gas into the engine fast enough, or through corroded pipes. A full systems check is all you need to know the steps you need for your (F)ixed (O)r (R)epaired (D)aily to run smoothly again.

Hope it helps.

Engine light came on wit lack of power spluttering and wgite smoke from exhaust

Dear Sir,
As you said engine light is on and misfire with white smoke, it clearly symptom of poor ignition spark may cause of any wire got disconnected or spark plug faulty.
white smoke comes only in case no spark at spark plug and un burn fuel throwing from silencer. check wire and spark plug if any issue let me know. thanks.
