Re: 1996 1500 dodge ram power windows
A circuit breaker in the fuse block provides power to the master switch.. you may want to check the switch for power...also check the wiring between the door and body where the door opens....it may have broken

problem could be in the rubber boot from the door to teh door frame where the cables run ,i would remove the switch complex and check for a power feed to this switch ,it could be the cables in this tube /trunking are damaged or the earth cable even is broke, this is a fairly common fault
The only problem with this vehicle is that it needs a new window switch on the passenger side door.If the main switch on the drivers door works and the one on the door that the window won't go up on won't work it replace the switch on that door they all work on the same fuse.
IF YOU ARE SURE THERE IS POWER COMING OUT OF THE FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER, WITH IGNITION SWITCH ON, IT IS PROBABLY A BAD GROUND OR THE SWITCH HAS COME UNPLUGGED. THE GROUND WIRE IS BLACK & IS PROBABLY FASTENED SOMEWHERE ON THE LEFT KICK PANEL
Check wire loom coming through to door at hinge end of the door from pillar, and see if you have power going that far to switch. Not uncommon to find a worn, cracked, or broken wire in that loom where it bends constantly with opening & closing door.
can be the switch or motor take off the door pad and then hook the switch back up and see if you have power to the window motor more than likely it will be the window motor but check it first, thanks and keep me posted
If you have already replaced the passenger side switch and it still doesnt work its a good chance that there is a pinched wire in the door itself. However usually it wont work from the drivers side either. But I still suggest looking there first.
