SOURCE: CAN YOU INSTALL DRIVE BELT ON CAR WITH AC AND

On most cars you can. But first take a string and rout it around all the pullys excludeing the compressor pully. To make shure the path is cler. Then mesure the length of the string to order your shorter belt.

SOURCE: Replaced bad AC unit with floater pully, now no heat, overheating

most likely when you replaced coolant line and refilled rad the system was not bled properly.
fill the system with 50/50 again and top up the reservoir. run the engine to 2000 rpm and look at temp gauge . it should rise to middle and drop to low this means t stat opend and air is out now let engine idle and top up coolant. good luck

SOURCE: 1996 Regal: No heat, Radiator Fans wont work, Over heating.

If the thermostat is not opening then the engine heats up. So I would replace that first and then see about the fans not turning.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: Belt squeaks when AC turns on

Your belt is not tight enough. Are you using the power steering pump to adjust? (right way) or doing something else? Keep tension on the pump and tighten the pivot bolt first.

Screaming noise from ac no cold air

It sounds to me that your belt or tensioner is worn, if the noise goes away when the ac is off then it is just the belt slipping, it takes a lot of power to run the compressor and if the belt is worn it most likely slipping on the pully when you engage the clutch.

I have a 2006 Mazda3. I noticed whenever my air conditioner or heat is on it makes a sound like a lawn mower when I acceralate. Any ideas of what this could be ?

Well, I think you can rule out the AC/heater fan inside the car. That would make noise even just sitting in the driveway.

Many/most vehicles are designed to run the AC compressor not only when the AC is on but also when the defroster is on. This is to keep the AC compressor lubricated through the winter months also.

It should not be a belt problem as that belt is always turning anyway which should then rule out the pulley bearing at the AC compressor.

I do suspect your problem is a major internal failure of the AC compressor. This can be easily checked by a technician [or yourself if qualified]. Locate the electrical connector at or to the AC compressor. Two people: With the AC turned on, in park, increase the engine speed so you can here the noise. Disconnect the AC compressor electrical connector. If the noise stops instantly, the compressor has failed. A quite expensive repair. Have a reputable shop locate a re-manufactured compressor for you. That will help some on the cost.

Front end of car vibrates when A/C or heat is turned on

I would look at your AC compressor. Your compressor is suppose to run when your defrost is on as well as when you turn your AC on. If the compressor is not in good condition it will make a lot of drag and pull engine RPMs down.

When i turn the air, heat or fan on i get a loud screech ac bel tensioner belt drive belt and alternator belt replaced?

Hi,
It could be the clutch in the AC compressor is failing. If it completely locks up it will break your belt and likely cause the car not to run @ all. Get it checked out ASAP.

I have a 1999 Grand Voyager. Whenever it rains, the serpentine belt comes off. What's the problem and solution?

Ok..that is a strange one.. I am going to hazard a guess and suggest you look to the AC compressor.

When you run the defroster the ac compressor comes on..typically whenever the outside temp is above 40 degrees.. the ac compressor kicks in to dry out air inside.

Often when it rains.. the windows fog.. you turn on the defrost.. the ac compressor tries to come on.. and.. there ya go.. rather there your serpentine belt goes.

Several things could cause this.. worn belt.. failing belt tension-er... or failing ac compressor..

If the ac compressor is frozen meaing it will not turn..when the electric clutch on the front engages.. it would cause the pulley to stop turning.. and the belt would have a hard time staying on a non rotating part.

Or if the belt tension-er is bad..or the belt is worn.. when the additional load of the compressor kicks in.. it jumps off.

Finally it could be a combination of all three..

Best of luck..

Looks like a faceplate or some sort of front cover on the ac compressor looks like it broke free. Possibly bolts snapped off?

The ac compressor has a clutch on the front end where the belt pulley runs. When the ac is off the clutch disengages and the compressor stops running. The pulley will continue to turn with the engine. If the belt is running normally and that pulley is turning normally along with the other accessories on the belt, it may not be broken, just that the clutch is disengaged. If it is still in place and spinning then your clutch is probably not broken, but more likely you are low on freon. When the freon is low a switch tells the compressor not to come on, and only the pulley will turn. Your ac will not get cold. There may also be other reasons the clutch won't pull in, such as fuses and such.

You should check the condition of the belts. The belt tracks are porbably worn so sometimes they would tend to jump or slip. Check it out

Alternator Belt

TAKE A ROPE AND RUN IT AS IF IT WERE A BELT ALONG THE ALTERNATOR AND CRANKSHAFT. MEASURE THE LENGTH OF ROPE THEN GO TO PARTS STORE TO BUY A SMALLER BELT. THE IDEA IS TO BYPASS THE AC BEING A 94 IM SURE IT HASN'T WORKED IN QUITE SOME TIME, I'VE BEEN A MECHANIC FOR 8 YEARS AND WE BYPASS THESE ALL THE TIME, THE TENSIONER ON THAT CAR I BELIEVE IS ON THE ALTERNATOR, HONDA MADE THE AC OPTIONAL.. BELTS ARE USUALLY NAMED AFTER THERE SIZE (IE 4060934 IS 93.4 INCHES LONG) IF NEED BE REMOVE THE AC COMPRESSOR.
