Sounds like the oil pressure sender wire is caught between the gearbox and motor it must have dropped down when they changed the gearbox if you want to fix it yourself find the wire cut it off the extend the wire and put it back on the oil sender or once you find it take it back to the shop and point it out to them its there misstake good luck and a happy new year

My 2000 chevy blazer is knocking, but from the front of the motor, has good oil pressure. changed the oil & there was very very minute dirt/shavings. Transmission has been acting up going into 2

Check the water pump in the front of your engine for bearings going out. Have your tranny fluid changed & have the 2 shift selonods replaced, if the tranny is OK.

2003 yukon big motor oil pressure gage drop to o message and alarm goes off Oil level ok.has done this in past and quits.

if the guage is unreliable and its the only one that is, may switch to an aftermarket separate oil pressure guage that mounts elsewhere and be done with the situation entirely..these run around 25 bucks and its time to install and it wont fail like electronic ones do...

Changed battery in 05 chevy truck now oil pressure is 80 lbs

I take it the guage was fine untill you changed the battery? There a special policy on clusters for 03 and 04 gm ck trucks 7 years and 70k covered 100% Between 70 and 80 k warr will pay for the cluster and you pay labor. The guage needles have a problem of sticking.Call your dealer and ck with them about the special policy 1st.I hope you truck falls with in the guide lines for warr.

Oil pressure guage pushes to 80 when not idling.

In an engine in good condition, oil pressure is a function of RPM. Higher rpm, higher pressure. Whne coasting downhill, in gear, the engine rpm will increase, hence, the oil pressure will go up, as required, and as expected.

There is nothing wrong with your engine, unless the oil pressure goes excessively high under any regime. Low oil pressure is a sign of low rpm, or under load, a sign of worn parts.

My check guages light come on and off and the oil pressure guage goes for 0 and then back to normal

have your oil pressure tested with a mechanical test guage as soon as possiable, if it is ok then replace oil pressure guage unit

Oil pressure gauge reads past 80

now unless there is a very loud knocking of the motor which would mean that the engine's top end was not getting any oil I would say that your oil guage is sprung and needs replacing. a high pressure rating would indicate a restriction in the oil flow pasdt the sending unit or a plugged oil filter. if the filter were plugged you would know it because your enging would run tight in no time at all. replace the guage itself... please rate this........thanks
