I have a 99 Chevy Silverado 4.3L 167000 miles, and after gunning it on the Highway I would get check engine light but it only happened every 6 months.

I run seafoam Injector/fuel system cleaner through and after about a week it goes out and runs smooth again.

Always try some type of fuel treatment/cleaner first, especially on high mileage vehicles before any expensive repairs.

I had the same exact problem at 175000 miles on my '99 Silverado..after paying the garage several times to read the computer codes to me and ex-plain that 1st I needed an $899.00 head gasket repair, and then just a $250 injector replacement, I decided to run some injector cleaner throguh the system...guess what?............I cetainly am glad I didn't have the head gaskt repaired or the injector replaced...problem fixed

Replace the fuel filter for starters (no pun-sorry) If that doesn't help try cleaning MAF sensor with spray carb cleaner and LET DRY before reassembling (Mass Air Flow sensor) big round tube after air filter, they get dirty and gummed up.

How can you check for a intake leak? vaccum test? OSBII ? I had a cool weather skip that was getting worse, I replaced 02 sensors upper both sides, rotor button was broke so I replaced rotor, cap , wires...

Try spraying WD-40 on the intake CAREFULLY! And see if temporary runs better. If so then changed the gasket/hoses. Other wise check the pcv valve and other items on the block that have vacuum hoses.

2000 chevy silverado 5.3, skips a little between 50-55mph, plugs and wires were changed. scanner shows bad knock sensor #2. will changing this correct the problem?

it should but recheck ur wires and plugs first a bad plug or wire can cause a knock ping problem and set off sensor also check the knock sensor connections at rear of engine----- the knock sensors for the 8 cyl are located under the intake manifold so its labor intensive to replace the sensor

How to replace the knock sensor on a 1999 chevy silverado 1500

The knock sensor is llocated on the left side of the engine block and is a single wire connector. Disconnect the wire and simply unscrew the sensor. Don't worry. There will be no fluid leaking. No tricks.

There is a sensor with 3 wires on the manifold of my 1999 chevy v6 silverado the wires have been pulled out is this the cps sensor? if so do you know the order of replacement starting from the firewall out...

Hummm. Okay, The sensor that is on the Manifold is called a O2 sensor ( Oxygen Sensor ) If the wires was pulled from the sensor then you need to replace the sensor it's self. There should be a connector that you can unplug. Not to sure why you would need to know the replacement starting from the firewall out or left to right. Need more details on this part?
