hi from uk will do best to help you ? when you say engine doesn't crank/ turn over with starter ?? will you please try this ? put spanner on crank pully bolt and see if engine turns over manually? then come back with info ? also are you certain the battery leads are secure and also the starter solenoid which is on the starter motor has the thinner wire connected to its terminal this wire activates starter when key start selected? another important check to confirm if timing belt has gone ? is to remove oil fill cap and you will see camshaft whilst turning engine manually as prev requested above? if belt has not gone the camshaft will also move BUT if cam does not move when engine turned manually then cambelt is snapped please come back/ or e mail me with your findings? and may be able to advise further ? keeping fingers crossed for you it is not the c/belt ? best of luck

My 1999 Hyundai Accent GL stalls in city traffic. It drives fine on the interstate but when you have to start and stop it doesn't want to go move the the next gear. i have had the o2 sensor and the ca

I would check for any codes, even if the check engine light is off. These Cars had a few different problems like this. The first is the Cam or Crank sensor failing. The second is the Timing belt jumping a tooth due to not replacing it at or around 60k. Ive seen this many times, With an advanced timing belt, it will run well, if not better than normal at cruising speeds but can cause stalling at low RPM, erratic idle, rough idle, lake of power from take off.

Have you checked the timing belt, it is most likely has stripped out teeth and not turning the camshaft(s). Pull the belt cover off the front of the engine and see if the camshaft pulleys rotate when cranking the engine over.

I have spark thru the plugs and fuel thru the fuel filter but the car will not start. It cranks over and has fired a couple of times but will not catch. I have checked the fuel pump, and replaced the fuel...

If you have spark then it is not the crank sensor. Try starting it with the throttle all the way open. Get some air in the engine. If it acts like it wants to start then you have probably gas fouled the plugs. If you haven't replaced the plugs in a while, now would be a good time. This happens alot in the winter time.

1992 jeep cherokee sport 2 door 4.0 inline six. Jeep was running fine except when you went to start it it took two cranks sometimes three then would start. Went to start it the other day and it took alot...

Sounds more like a timing problem than an O2 Sensor. Distributor out of Sync would be my guess. It ran better at Higher idles because the timing belt/chain was tight from tension at low idle the timing was off which caused your problems. Now the belt is either broken or so loose the timing is out and the vehicle won't fire. If it has a Distributor cap remove it and watch the rotor. If it turns the belt is intact but Timing may still be off.

Check engine light

dear friend-what i can pick up from your explenation and the fault code is that your intake air pressure sensor is at fault.the smoke from the back of your was because the ecu requested more feul and thats why the smoke.feul cosumption will increase every time this light comes on

Could be the timing belt? If it breaks it wont be an easy fix and it wont be cheap to have someone do it for you either. The good thing is that it CAN be fixed, unlike those Honda motors. The power loss issue makes me think that it is a timing belt issue. Hope this helps a bit...Good Luck!
