The ecm would not cause this, it sounds like someone did a poor rebuild, if the engining is reving and the car doesnt what to go then the clutches may be bad, a mass are flow would not cause a trany to go bad, the flashing hold light is a problem but should not be happening after the trany was just rebuilt, something is not right here, the trany was just rebuilt and now the hold light flashes and the motor rev going into 2nd gear, that trany has problems a bad ecm wouuldnt cause this slipping reving problem you are having , i would have a trany shop check to see if that trany was really rebuit.
Either the fluid is low or you have a clogged trany filter or are starting to loose your transmition. If it is just low on fliud you will ruin your trany if you keep driving it with this condition.Check your fluid level with the engine running and if it is low fill it to the full line and test drive.
if the engine rpm dont keep pace with you accelerating then your trany is slipping. 158k is alot of miles, not that its there limit but its not unheard of
The trani is slipping.. Check the fluid while the engine is running - in park..
Each time the trani slips - it can cause damage.. You might need to get it re-built..
Some shops offer free estimates..
no belts in transmission 2-4 band slipping if its a 4l60e will need overhaul you just dont replace band you have to check out why it failed what about the drum the band wraps around should be check for wear the worn lining from band went some wear did he open filter when pan was down is that $1200 a guantee price whats the warranty is it a year or 12000 miles I'd get another opinion
Its slipping ? Like the engine rpms go up and no go ?
Check the trani fluid - while the car is running in park..
Trani fluid is messured in pints on the dipstick - not quarts.. Be careful not to over fill..
Note; If trani is low on fluid to long and slipping to long - it is causing damage..
I also have a 2009 Outlander Sportronic transmission with a V6 engine.
Bought it this summer ... transmission appeared fine but seemed to automatically slow down the vehicle using the engines compression whenever I let go of the gas pedal.
Now that the cold weather is upon us here in Canada, whenever I accelarate normally (not like a teenager) the transmission takes quite a bit of time to shift into second... If I rev up the engine (quick take off) it seems to help but the shifting of gears is not as smooth as I would expect it (mildly slips and kicks into second)...
The worst is when come to a complete stop ... then the transmission kicks coming down from the higher gears???
I read somewhere that this is because this transmission is a CVT type and is learning my driving habits in order to adjust itself so the vehicle becomes more fuel efficient... Not sure but if the trany is computer controlled then it must be poorly writen program...
I'm taking the car in to the dealer and will write back on the diagnostic they give me ...
